Date night is all about recharging your batteries and reconnecting with your spouse. For us these nights away are few and far between so it’s important to us to make the best of it. I am sharing some of my top date night picks in Tampa Bay to make choosing a date night location easier for you. From new restaurants to established favorites, you are sure to find something to make you and your spouse happy.

Bulla

I was recently invited to a media preview of Bulla, a new tapas style restaurant on South Howard. I have had my fair share of tapas and consider myself kind of a harsh critic when it comes to this type of Spanish cuisine. My husband and I spent some time in Spain and it’s hard to find something here in the states that can even come close.

I walked into this beautiful, brand new restaurant and was instantly impressed when the bartender told me how all the drinks were made from scratch and of their amazing happy hour. The decor was beautiful and inviting and let me tell you, the food was equally amazing. I loved everything I had, and I tried a lot! My favorite had to be the Croquestas De Jamon with this fig jelly that I wanted to drink. I also loved the Salmon which was light and perfectly seasoned. This restaurant really impressed me, and as someone who likes to eat out that means a lot. Plus with their new rooftop bar opening soon I will definitely be going back.

VomFass

If you have never heard of VomFass it’s a store in Wiregrass mall that sells wines, spirits, oils and vinegar. I know what you are thinking, shopping on date night?!? (the ladies might like it but the guys not so much). After visiting Vomfass for the first time I realized it was so much more than just a store.

They have special events such as cooking classes and tastings. After attending an event where they showed us how to cook with their delicious oils and vinegar I knew I wanted to come back again for a date night. Even on a regular night you can go into the store and taste exotic oils and barrel aged whisky. Such a fun and unique thing to do with your husband and a great addition to Tampa Bay. Use code vomfass10 to get 10% off in the store. A little date night gift from me to you.

Bartaco

Last but not least, Bartaco is our go-to for delicious food, a fun and casual atmosphere and great service. When my husband and I want to just relax and have a great margarita we don’t even have to say a word to each other. We both know what the other is thinking and it is always Bartaco. You might have read my post on taking your kids out to dinner. We don’t just go to Bartaco on date nights, it’s also a family affair.

We had the chance to visit Bartaco recently and check out their newest secret taco, Lamb Barbacoa. I have really cut down on eating meat lately but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity and the Lamb Barbacoa did not disappoint. I also ordered a few of my favorites, the grilled corn and the plantains. Guys, I dream about this stuff it’s so good.

This visit I tried a new cocktail called the Sanguina. I’ll be ordering this one next time because it was the perfect combination of sweet but not too sweet. It’s hard to find a drink that has that balance and the Sanguina definitely does. Bartaco in Tampa will always be a staple for date nights in our book. Next time be sure to ask for the secret taco, it is phenomenal!
