The girls and I just worked on the cutest Easter craft idea. We have been really into gardening lately so I thought why not use all these leftover plastic Easter eggs to create little planters for our spring garden. All of the girls loved this idea and spent the afternoon planting some new vegetable seeds.
We are always looking for and creating new ideas to make homeschool and spending time together at home more fun. Often times we are using household items we already have available, just using it in a more creative way. Using leftover or excess materials is also a great way to cut down on garbage and promote recycling. Lots of lessons to be taught right at home! Hope you enjoy this one…Here is what you will want to do for your own DIY Easter Egg Planters.
6 Easy Steps for making Easter Egg Planters:
1. Use a hot glue gun to attach the bottom of the Easter egg to the top.
(We found having the long piece on the top gave us more room for planting)
2. Add a little bit of soil to your egg. Using moist potting soil seemed to work best.
3. Gently place your favorite seeds into the soil, pressing about halfway into the egg base.
4. Then add more soil on top of the hole you’ve created and then top it off.
5. Use a dropper to add water, that way you don’t use too much all at once.
6. Place them close to a window and transfer to a larger planter once it outgrows your egg.
