The good part about going on a vacation is that you get to visit new places and experience new things. The difficult part is that you have to plan everything from start to finish. Searching for the perfect hotel, arranging transportation, and researching where to go and what to do can get a bit overwhelming at times. We recently took a family trip to the Dominican Republic, but we decided to go all-inclusive. Follow along to see why we had such a great trip to La Romana in the Dominican Republic.

All-Inclusive Family Trip

Every time we plan a vacation, we explore the place on our own, but this time we decided to do things differently. This time we planned our family trip to the Dominican Republic and stayed at the all-inclusive Hilton La Romana Family Resort. What do you know, it was one of the best decisions of my life! Located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, Hilton La Romana is the perfect family getaway that offers everything from beaches to water parks, kid’s clubs, workout facilities, and a number of dining options for every family member.

Dominican Republic Trip Itinerary

Check-In at Hilton La Romana

When we landed at the Punta Cana International Airport, our vehicle was waiting to transfer us to Hilton. It was a 45-minute ride, but everyone was so excited about the trip that the time just flew by. Upon arrival, w\e were blown away by its picturesque setting when we reached the resort. The beach’s turquoise waters, sparkling blue pools, and scenic views were breathtakingly beautiful. Already in heaven and this was just the start of an amazing family trip to the Dominican Republic.

Our Family Room

We got to our premium club room and the kids gasped with excitement when they saw the private pool. A few minutes later, they were busy splashing about as we unpacked and got ready to settle in. The views from our room and everywhere around the property were just gorgeous. What a naturally beautiful property Hilton has in La Romana.

Family Water Park Adventure

Around late afternoon, we decided to step out of our room, explore the grounds, and check out the amenities included in our trip. The tube slides of the water park were visible from ground level and as all 3 kids couldn’t contain their excitement. That’s where we headed first. The big kids got busy with the slides and lazy river while the youngest decided to check out the kids’ splash zone. After several hours of swimming and playing at the water park, we decided to go toward the beach.

Family Trip to the Beach

Bayahibe Beach is just like something out of a movie! The sparkling white sand, the turquoise waters, the beautiful palm trees lining it. There’s little to no crowd making it an amazing place to sit back, relax, and take in the beauty of nature. While my husband and I sat down on the soft sand to take a breather, the kids made sand castles and dipped their feet in the cool water.

Main Pool La Romana Dominican Republic

The kids had been enjoying water activities since we arrived at the resort. It seemed they hadn’t had enough, therefore our next stop was the main pool. Hilton La Romana has 4 glistening outdoor pools, but we decided to check out the main one. We had our swimming gear with us, so we splashed around the pool until it was closing time. We headed back to our room to get cleaned up, change, and went out for dinner. After such an incredible day, the kids were famished and enjoyed warm cheesy pizza at Azzuri. Azure is the on-site Italian themed restaurant and it was excellent.

Family Trip Day 1 at Hilton La Romana

The following day, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the buffet. The menu had everything you could imagine and my kids devoured their favorite items. The best part of the buffet was the custom omelette station, the fresh pressed juices, and the selection of fresh cut fruits.

Gaming Room

Hilton La Romana has an outdoor covered gaming room where you can enjoy games like billiard, ping pong ball, and foosball. The girls played a mini ping pong game and then we headed out to explore the resort. It was nice to have all of these things so close to the room, so we could stop and enjoy them anytime we pleased. They also had a batting cage that opened each day.

Kids Club

As we had already checked out the water park, pools, and beach the previous day, we decided to visit the Kids’ Club today. They had arranged a dance class, followed by a treasure hunt for the kids. While the kids had the time of their lives at the Kids’ Club, we decided to relax at the beach under the canopy with some refreshing drinks.

Family Beach Activities

The kids joined us at the beach, so we decided to enjoy some beach activities. The resort like kayaking and windsurfing, free at the resort. By the time we were done with all the activities, it was time for dinner. Today we decided to try the Mustache for a French dining experience.

Amphitheater

Post-dinner, the resort had arranged a Dominican Show at the amphitheater that recreated scenes from famous movies. It was a fun and exciting experience. The girls all volunteers to help with the show and had a blast. What a happening first day at the resort!

Family Trip Day 2 at Hilton La Romana

Private Cabana

The second day started with breakfast at the Grill, followed by a swim in the private pool by our room. We decided to stay in today, as the kids were a bit exhausted from the activities of the previous two days. So, we decided to have lunch at the private poolside cabana. We ordered food from the room service. It was a peaceful and relaxing experience.

Magic Show at the Resort

We decided to have a quiet dinner by the sea at The Grill. We were in for a surprise, as the resort had hosted a mini dance party for the guests, followed by a magic show for the kids. We had an amazing time and the kids were overjoyed to see the magician perform various magic tricks. Now buy youngest wants to be a magician.

Family Trip Day 3 at the Hilton La Romana

Today was our last day in La Romana, so we decided to make the most of today and enjoy the remaining activities. So, after an early breakfast buffet, we headed to the beach again. We did some water Zumba in the ocean together, such a fun time. We swam a bit, had some fresh smoothies, and soaked up the sun.

Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at the Beach

This time we went snorkeling and enjoyed scuba diving sessions at the beach. The girls were pretty pumped up for this new adventure. Later we enjoyed frozen drinks from the Coral Reef beach bar, while the kids built sand castles and played around. We rounded up our trip by enjoying a really great lunch buffet before heading to the airport for our flight back home.

Travel Hack: If you bring your own snorkeling mask and gear it is easy to snorkel on your own. We also like the full faced masks.

Airport Pool Family Adventure

Just when we thought the trip was over… one of the lounges at the Punta Cana Airport had a swimming pool. Since we had our suits with us and a couple of hours before boarding the plane, I thought, “Why not?” The girls and I jumped in the pool and swam right above the planes. It was one last family adventure in the Dominican Republic before we left. After drying off, we boarded our plane to get back home from an amazing and very refreshing family trip.

All-Inclusive Family Trips

Whenever we return home from a trip, we feel a bit exhausted. This time we came home refreshed and all set to head out for another trip in a few days. My experience of an all-inclusive family vacation was nothing but special. So, if you want to take a family vacation where you can truly relax and unwind, I’d say go for an all-inclusive one and thank me later!
