Ingredients needed to make Halloween Hot Dog Mummies

  • Pack of your favorite Hot Dogs
  • Pack of canned Crescent Rolls – we like to use Pillsbury but you can use any brand that allows you to unravel it.
  • Edible eyeballs – these are the best!
  • Something to adhere the eyeballs to the hot dogs (ketchup or mustard)

Here are the steps to follow

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Open your crescent rolls and unroll all of the dough.
  • Take apart the individual triangles and roll them together lengthwise.

NOTE: don’t handle the crescent rolls too much. They tend to break apart if you stretch them too much.

  • Take that portion and stretch it out carefully to create a rope.
  • Take each long rope of dough and wrap it around each hot dog, overlapping a bit to create a criss-cross pattern. This is what will create the look of bandages on your hot dog mummies.

There really is no right or wrong way to do this. You can even have your kids help you and it becomes a great Halloween activity as well!

  • Place each wrapped hot dog on a baking sheet and then bake for about 12 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Once cool, take a small dot of something sticky and place it where you want to place your candy eyeballs. If you don’t have candy eyeballs you can make a little eyeball with a dot of ketchup or mustard too!

Serve and Enjoy!
