If you’re looking for fun and festive treats for your little ones, these monster apples are perfect! While sugary candy may be the traditional choice, why not opt for a healthier snack this year without sacrificing any of the fun?

These healthy monster apples are an easy and fun snack to make with your kids, perfect for Halloween parties, or a wholesome after-school treat. Follow the steps below to make some spooky and nutritious creations that the whole family will love!

What You’ll Need for Monster Apples

To make these fun, spooky monster apples, all you need is:

  • Sliced apples
  • Sliced strawberries
  • Peanut butter
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Candy eyeballs

The apples will make the monster’s mouth, the strawberries make the tongue, the sunflower seeds make perfect monster teeth, and of course the candy eyeballs make the monster’s eyes. Peanut butter holds the whole monster together, so you can’t skip this part, but if your child has a peanut allergy, you can always opt for another kind of nut butter.

Steps to Make the Spooky Monster Apples

First, cut the apples into slices. I suggest cutting the apple in half and then quartering it. Next, spread a generous amount of peanut butter on one side of each sliced apple and put two slices together, peanut butter sides facing each other.

Dab two blobs of peanut butter on the top apple and stick the candy eyeballs in the peanut butter.

Then it’s time to move on to the really fun part, adding the monster’s teeth! Stick sunflower seeds into the peanut butter so they are poking out like sharp teeth. Then add a slice of strawberry under the teeth for the tongue and there you have it! You’ve made a really fun and simple Halloween snack that your kids will love!

Our girls made these spooky monster apples themselves, but this would be a really fun appetizer to put together for a party too!
